I’m a list girl. I love them. I need them to function properly. And having a handy printable that I can check off tasks as I complete them makes life soooo much easier. I feel a great sense of accomplishment every time I get to mark a little box next to an item. So for Week 1 of the Home for the Holidays Challenge, I’ve got a free printable for you to manage your fall maintenance tasks and help you get your outdoor summer spaces closed down for the winter.

Winterizing Summer Spaces and Fall Maintenance Chores - Home for the Holidays Challenge Week 1

Fall Maintenance Brings Longer Life to Your Home

Chores aren’t fun, but they are necessary. I don’t want you to have to spend money on something new next spring when you could have done a little fall maintenance and preserved your home and belongings with just a little time and elbow grease.

Each of the items on the printable are designed to keep you on track for all of your fall maintenance tasks. They can’t all be completed at once, as some things need done long before winter arrives, like closing the pool. But early October may be just a bit too soon to start raking all of the leaves falling in to your yard.

This is meant to be an organization tool for you. Not every item may apply to your situation. If you know of something that should be added to the fall maintenance checklist, please leave a comment on the Bluestone Decorating Facebook page and share your tip with others who are following the Home for the Holidays Challenge.

Your Life Just Got Easier

I hate closing down for winter. It’s a reminder that summer is over, and fall seems to pass way too fast here in Virginia, although it is beautiful while it lasts. By organizing your tasks, you can find a beautiful Saturday afternoon to complete the outdoor stuff and be ready for spring again. It’s a great time-management tool, and you’ll have more time for all the other fun stuff that comes with fall… fire pits with s’mores, apple picking, a trip to the pumpkin patch, tailgating at a football game, a visit to a vineyard… you know, all those GREAT things that fall brings.
