I’m over beige. I’m over gray. I’m over greige. Say hello to my FAVORITE neutral color – Navy Blue. I absolutely love this color, it’s become a signature for me. Navy Blue is classic with any style of decor, and I can’t think of a color off the top of my head that it doesn’t pair well with.

The Accent is Everything

Just ask any Southern girl and she’ll tell you that accents are everything. Have you ever really thought about what colors can easily go with a beautiful dark blue? Everything does. Think of your blue jeans – do you own a shirt that doesn’t work well with blue jeans? Doubt it. Let’s analyze the rainbow:

Pink – yep. Can balance masculine and feminine.

Red – oh yeah baby.

Orange – the perfect complementary color – use your color wheel and you’ll see that blue and orange were made for each other.

Yellow – absolutely. Don’t you love this? So sunny, even with dark walls.

Lavenders – gorgeous

White – stunning, just don’t let it go nautical on you.

Black – get an accent color going here or they’ll blend too much. Try gold for a high-end look.

Gray – especially a silvery gray. Heavenly.

Pairing Sherwin-Williams "Smokey Blue" with white and silver as well as the brown pine & cherry furnishings makes this Master Bedroom a quiet oasis.
The Master Bedroom should be a restful oasis from the world.

Brown – it works with darker browns, but makes beige feel more up-to-date

I absolutely love navy blue in a home. It’s easy to incorporate and has a classic look that will match any accent colors you throw at it. Are you ready to fall in love with Navy Blue in your Home?

A few of my favorite Navy Blue Paints:

  • Sherwin-Williams “Indigo Batik” (shown above on accent wall)
  • Sherwin-Williams “Smokey Blue” – used it in a Master Bedroom
  • Benjamin Moore “Hale Navy”
  • Benjamin Moore “Newbury Port Blue”
  • Benjamin Moore “Kensington Blue”
  • Sherwin Williams “Naval”
  • Behr “Night Shade”

These colors vary widely in their undertones. A Consultation will allow me to view your rooms in natural daylight and make a true recommendation as to what works best with your furnishings in your space.
